Making Your Computer Faster

With use, Windows based computers become more and more slower. It becomes necessary to find the cause of the slowdown and fix it to make the computer run fast as before. This can be done both manually and also by using specialized software. Now, how is it possible to know for certain if the computer has really slowed down? Simple! Open an application such as a web browser or MS Office and if it takes plenty of time to fully open, it means the computer has slowed down.

Computers slow down because Windows components occupy the memory fully. When an application such a web browser is launched, the memory has no place to hold it and so the computer becomes very slow. One way to make the computer faster is to add more memory. However, this is a costly solution and this is not always needed. If your computer has become very slow, you will have to identify the root problem that is causing it to slow down. Computers often become slow due to spyware and malware. This can be ch ecked by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del keys and checking for suspicious processes. Or else, these can also be detected by using an antivirus software. Malware consume system resources i.e. memory and CPU cycles and slow the system down.

Sometimes some unwanted programs may also slow the computer down. The best way to eliminate this problem is to uninstall the unwanted applications using Add/Remove in Windows Control Panel. Errors in the Windows Registry can make the system slow and also crash it completely. The only efficient way to fix the errors in the registry is to use a registry scanner. All the software can be downloaded from the Internet. There are both free and paid software that tweak the computer and improve its performance. Software can be downloaded from major download such sites.
