"ScanDisk" is a newly released fake antivirus application which is trying to hijack the name of the legitimate MS-DOS application Scandisk (which works to format your hard drives). This infection has been designed to look "official" in an attempt to get you to buy the fake upgrade to the program, as well as continually working to steal your personal information from any websites you visit. This virus is known as a "malware" (malicious software) infection, because of the way it installs an actual software program onto your computer.
